Transportation Committee
Purpose and Goals
The purpose of the Transportation Committee is to find solutions to address the unmet transportation needs of the underserved and low-income residents of North County.
The Transportation Committee works to create strategies, plans, funding and programs to provide transportation solutions for the underserved and low-income residents of North County. The primary goals of the Committee are to increase accessibility to existing public transportation, augment the existing transportation system, support the cost of using public transportation, expand and create supplemental transportation modes serving special needs residents, especially for the ARS Winter Shelter clients, and to seek funding and community based partnerships that support the accomplishments of these goals.
The Committee works closely with FACT (Full Access and Coordinated Transportation). FACT is a county-wide organization that is sanctioned by SANDAG and its primary purpose is to address unmet transportation needs of the entire San Diego Region.
Meeting Schedule
The Transportation Committee meets quarterly and more frequently as needed. Committee members are encouraged to participate in FACT Advisory Committee meetings.
